Quarantine Free Travel to Malaysia for vaccinated travellers from Apr 1

Singapore 3/8/2022: Malaysia will reopen its borders to international travellers starting April 1. Visitors as well as Malaysian (fully vaccinated) who are returning to Malaysia are not required to undergo quarantine upon arrival.

However, RT-PCR test two days before departure and a rapid test (RTK/ART) upon arrival will still be required.

For foreigner travelling to Malaysia, they are no longer required to apply through Malaysia’s MyTravelPass (1 Apr onwards).

They will still be required to download the MySejahtera app and must complete a pre-departure form.

Malaysia had shut their border since March 2020. This move signals Malaysia “Transitioning to Endemicity” phase.

Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Tuesday said “This move will revive the country’s economy, especially the tourism industry that has been heavily affected by the pandemic.”

“Most importantly, Malaysia is now a destination that is open and can be visited by all,” said Ismail Sabri at a press conference in Parliament on Tuesday.
