Singapore: a 20-year-old man had died from severed burn injuries when a Personal Mobility Device (PMD) caught fire in a lift at a Woodlands housing blocks on Thursday, Jun 3, night.
The man was conscious when taken to hospital, however, he succumbed to his injuries after.
Preliminary investigations into the cause of the fire indicated that it was of “electrical origin” from a PMD, said SCDF.
NON-UL2272 certified devices and modification to PMDs poses a risk and threaten public safety, SCDF reminded.
