
What Happened
Two double-decker public buses collided on Jurong West Avenue 1 at about 10:54–10:55 am. One bus (Service 98, Tower Transit) rear-ended a stationary bus (Service 99, SBS Transit) at a traffic light.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is investigating the cause of the collision.
🚑 Injuries and Response
44 people were taken to hospital for treatment — this included 42 passengers and 2 bus drivers.
Emergency responders arrived after being alerted shortly before 11 am.
One person was trapped in a bus and had to be freed by SCDF using hydraulic rescue tools.
According to government updates, 23 of those taken to hospital have since been discharged. One bus captain remains hospitalized but in stable condition.
Aftermath
The accident site was cleared and traffic remained passable afterward. Bus services resumed normally.
Both Tower Transit and SBS Transit said they are reaching out to the injured and their families to provide support.
