Singapore: A 32-year-old migrant worker die from a mobile crane crash. His chest was crushed between a mobile crane counterweight and its undercarriage.
The worker was taken to Khoo Teck Phuat Hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Before the unfortunate accident, the Indian worker was retrieving two shackles from a toolbox underneath the chassis of the mobile crane.
This was the 27th workplace fatality so far this year. Last year, there were a total of 37.
The worksite is the address of the Home Team Tactical Centre, which houses training facilities for Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
The ministry said that investigation is ongoing and had instructed occupier to stop all lifting work at the worksite.
