Three people taken to hospital following a collision at Serangoon Central on February 10

Three people – including a six-year-old boy – were taken to hospital after a collision involving a car and a cab at a taxi stand at Serangoon Central on Feb 10.

The accident took place at about 7.50am, police said, adding that the two other people were a 48-year-old woman and the boy’s 42-year-old mother.

The taxi driver, 59, sustained minor injuries, and refused to be taken to hospital, police said.

A video of the incident, uploaded on social media, shows the taxi stopping at a taxi stand. Captions indicate that the incident took place outside Nex shopping mall.

A woman, accompanied by a young boy, is seen opening the door before a white car came from behind and appears to knock into both of them, as well as another woman standing nearby.

The first woman is later seen getting up and checking on the boy. Moments later, the taxi driver emerges from the vehicle and moves towards the white car.

A 34-year-old woman, who was driving the car, is assisting with investigations, police said.
