Woman slashed at Liang Siah Street

Singapore, 14/04/2022: A woman was slashed at Liang Siah Street by a man with a chopper in broad daylight.

At around 5pm, graphical video of the slashing incidence starts to emerge on the net on the slashing.

In the video, the woman was seen lying on the road, behind a car, and a man was film repeatedly slashing at her. At around the same time, members of the public that seemed to be from the hotpot shop started hurling objects at the assailant to stop him.

Momentarily, the slasher stopped and ran off. But came back again, but this time round the lady had escaped into the store.

The victim is believed to be a chef at the hot pot restaurant, Zhong Hua Steamboat, which is known to serve steamboat buffet.

In a separate video posted, the victim’s left hand was seen to be mutilated and the man was attempting to hack her head off.

In an interview by ST, Mr Shi, owner of Samurai BBQ, 41, said that he thought that there was a fight, but then he saw the man slashing at the woman’s throat and her face was bleeding.

The SCDF (Singapore Civil Defence Force) said it received a call for assistance at around 5.30pm and was on scene.

Police officers arrived on scene and managed to subdue the assailant.

It is reported that the assailant and the victim are known to each other.

In an interview by ST, Mr Shi, owner of Samurai BBQ, 41, said that he thought that there was a fight, but then he saw the man slashing at the woman’s throat and her face was bleeding.

He and his manager attempted to stop the man by throwing a road sign and shouting at him, but the man did not respond.

When he shouted at the man to put his knife down, he came at him with the chopper, and he slowly backed away.

Mr Shi said that if he did not help her, she would have died.
