Singapore, 29/6/2022: A man charged at another man with a chopper and tried to slash him down. But fortunately, passersby were quick to react and managed to pin him down with chairs.
The aggressor was film on camera charging at the victim with a chopper, while the victim grabbed a chair and try to feud him off.
Eventually, the victim was push out of the coffee shop and onto the ground outside. At this point, one of the passersby took up a chair and tried to help the victim feud off the guy with the chopper.
The other passersby also joined in to defend the victim. Each armed with a chair, the group of good Samaritan managed to pin the attacker onto the ground and restricted his movement by using the chairs until the police arrive.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
The police arrested the attacker and escorted him to the police car.
Under section 352 of the Penal Code, if someone assaults or uses criminal force on another person when there was no grave and sudden provocation by that person, he/she will be punished with imprisonment for up to 3 months and/or a fine of up to $1,500
