Part of road burst up in flame at Upper Thomson Road

A flame sprouted out from nowhere along Upper Thomson Road towards Lornie road, stopping traffic in its track.

In the submitted dashcam footage, a sprout of flame was first seen below the overhead bridge leading to Thomson Plaza.

As the dashcam driver drove nearer to the sprout of flame, the flame suddenly conflagrates and shot up into the air, splitting into smaller part and landing around the surrounding.

Luckily there were no combustible items nearby. Eventually, the flame dies out and extinguishes itself.

On closer inspection of the road, there seems to be a pile of liquid at the combustion spot. At the roadside, there were also fenced out construction equipment.

No one was injured during the accidental pyrotechnic display.
