On March 2, 2025, a fatal high-speed crash occurred on Nicoll Highway involving a blue Porsche 911 Carrera. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Jeffery Loh Chong Hao, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Loh was the director and a shareholder of Chee Song Foods, known for its halal-certified meat products sold under the CS Foods brand in supermarkets.

The accident took place on Nicoll Highway towards Guillemard Road, before the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) entrance. Dashcam footage circulating online showed the Porsche speeding down Nicoll Highway in the extreme right lane.

The car swerved from right to left, hit a road divider, flipped onto its left side, skidded into several cars, and then burst into flames.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the burning car at 2:10 pm. Firefighters extinguished the blaze with a water jet, but Mr. Loh was found in the charred wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene. Two other men, aged 53 and 66, were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, while others involved declined to go to the hospital.

Mr. Loh had taken over Chee Song Foods from his father in 2013 and expanded the company’s business overseas, introducing a wider range of products. In 2023, the company was fined S$35,000 for failing to arrange for inspection, examination, and certification by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and for selling a consignment of frozen chicken products prior to inspection.
Investigations into the crash and the cause of the fire are ongoing.
