Motorcyclist Hit and Run

Singapore: A motorcyclist was caught on dashcam footage knocking into the rear of a car.

The driver subsequently filtered out of the slip road and stopped while waiting for the motorcyclist to stop, but the motorcyclist fled the accident scene instead.

It is a duty to stop in case of accident. Fleeing a scene of an accident is consider Hit and Run.

Hit and Run is an offence in Singapore. It can net the offender a fine not exceeding $3,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both and in subsequent case, a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.

In Feburary 2021, a man was jailed and banned from driving for hit-and-run case.
